There was a time when most Koreans were suffering from extreme poverty. Like Koreans back then, 10 percent of the world’s population is living in extreme poverty and suffering from disasters and diseases. Considering our present situation, I believe that Koreans were able to accomplish the “Miracle of the Hangang River” and achieve the nation’s independence and strength, thanks to the help of unknown people from other countries. This country now ranks as one of the world’s largest economic powers. So I think Koreans have a duty to find ways to help other countries in need and live together with our neighbors in the global village.
We’ve been walking the same path together without knowing. There is nothing happier than walking the same path together, right? All of you who are here today are our eternal family. You have paid attention to other people’s pain more than your own, and have showered encouragement and sincere support upon our neighbors throughout the global village. You are all members of our eternal WeLoveU family.
