Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah said, “The core of character education is mothers.”

Nowadays, character education becomes more important as crime rates among families increase. Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah emphasized the indispensable role mothers hold in regard to character building, saying, “If you want your children to study well, you must teach them about humanity, too. A mother is a teacher who teaches about humanity.” She added that mothers themselves should set good examples for their children because children learn from watching their family members, especially their mothers, from a young age.

Teach your children not only to receive love but also to give love. Taking part in volunteer services with your children is the best way to build their character. By doing that, you can also have opportunities to converse with them.

Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah mentioned that considering and helping neighbors are part of Korea’s culture. She requested each mother to help their children know the joy of sharing love through volunteer services. By doing so, they can actively work as global leaders, dedicating themselves to helping the less privileged in the world. Her request aligns with the activities and core values of the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation that takes care of global neighbors suffering from climate change, war, and many other difficulties.

Shin Seong-hui, a parent from Seongnam, expressed her sentiments, saying, “I’ve recently heard that universities want global leaders with a sound character. I really hope that my child will grow to become a talented global citizen with a broad perspective on the world. I learned through this lecture that I myself should set good examples for my child.”
