In March 2020, the World Health Organization [WHO] declared COVID-19 a pandemic. With the rapid spread of COVID-19, countries in Central and South America were in a state of emergency. COVID-19 led to national chaos in Ecuador, too, as the number of confirmed cases reached nearly 25,000 within two months of the pandemic declaration, paralyzing the medical system. In response, the WeLoveU decided to provide COVID-19 test kits to Ecuador in cooperation with the Ecuadorian Embassy in Korea.

The WeLoveU Signs a Letter of Intent With the Ecuadorian Embassy in Korea

Before donating to Ecuador, the WeLoveU signed a letter of intent [LOI] with the Ecuadorian Embassy in Korea. Starting with the signing of the letter of intent, the WeLoveU is expected to cooperate with the Ecuadorian Embassy in Korea and carry out various activities such as disaster relief, poverty alleviation, and environmental conservation.

On the same day, Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah promised the Ecuadorian Embassy in Korea to donate COVID-19 prevention supplies. Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah hoped that the COVID-19 situation would soon ease and that things in Ecuador would get better as soon as possible, saying, “As one family in a global village, it is a given to help one another in love.” Furthermore, she promised to make an additional donation of face masks, considering the situation in Korea and countries outside Korea. Chief of the Ecuadorian Diplomatic Mission in Korea Johnny D. Sharing Love and Encouragement for Ecuador Amid the COVID-19 Pandemic
