What is the U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Award?

The U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Award presented to Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah of the WeLoveU Foundation is awarded to an individual or a group who actively participates in volunteer service. The award is classified into bronze, silver or gold based on the number of hours of service the individual or group provides. Those who devote to volunteering more than 4,000 hours are honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. This is the highest honor— above gold, silver, and bronze. The footsteps of Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah’s volunteer services

Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah established the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation (formerly the New Life Welfare Foundation) in 2001 and has been carrying out volunteer service initiatives with a mother’s love. In 2004, the Korean government presented the Chairwoman the Order of Sport Merit (Maengho) for her extraordinary volunteer service together with the members during the Daegu Summer Universiade.

In 2007, the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation changed its name from the New Life Welfare Foundation to what it is today to extend its range of volunteer services. The major activities still held since the time of New Life Welfare Foundation are the New Life Concert and the New Life Walkathon. These events started in 2000 and 2002 respectively. They have been carried out ever since to help people around the world suffering from diseases, poverty, and disasters, and to help bring unity among family members and neighbors.

The Worldwide Blood Drives help those suffering from blood supply shortages and have become an initiative that practices neighborly love around the world wherever they are held. The WeLoveU Foundation is carrying out the Clean WORLD Movement in 50 countries, including the U.S. and Peru, for a healthy and clean world. Like its name, the WeLoveU Foundation shares love with all people and will continue to deliver love to every corner of the global village.
